GRANBURY- Cremation arrangements for Wallace Dean Dove, 82, are under the direction of Wiley Funeral Home. No services are planned at this time.
Wallace was born in Bluff Dale to Jessie Loyd Dove and Mada Hall Dove. He attended Bluff Dale schools and graduated from Stephenville High School in 1949. He was inducted into the U.S. Army in 1951 and served in the Korean War until discharged in 1953. He married Sally Ann Coleman, Jan. 29, 1954, in Fort Worth.
Mr. Dove attended Tarleton State College for two years, then North Texas State College where he graduated in 1956. He coached and taught at Sanger, Tolar and Stephenville high schools until 1961 when he was employed by USDA as County Office manager of what is now FSA. He served in this capacity in LaSalle, Harris, Wichita, Lynn, Somervell and Erath counties until retiring in 1989 when he settled as a rancher and farmer on his place near Tolar.
He is survived by his wife of 59 plus years, Ann Coleman Dove, daughter Diana Wright of Bluff Dale, son Sam Dove and wife Catherine of Valentine, grandsons Brad Wright of College Station, Will Wright of Bluff Dale and Chet Dove of Alpine, great-grandchildren Shannon and Tulah Wright of Bluff Dale, Mason Dean Dove of Alpine and Idaho and Clara Elizabeth Wright of College Station, brother Norman "Shorty" Dove and wife Monetta of Bluff Dale and sister Joyce Barton of Forestburg.
