Tarleton senior Lindsey Hinton was named the Lone Star Conference Cross Country Female Runner of the Year Wednesday following a vote of the league's head coaches.

Hinton ended her senior year of cross country after leading the TexAnns to their first-ever team berth in the NCAA National Championships. She finished in 59th place at the race in Spokane, Washington.

The national race followed her run through the postseason where she led the TexAnns at the NCAA South Central Regional Tournament and the Lone Star Conference Championship meet.

At the regional meet in Canyon, Hinton's 17th place finish led the team and lifted Tarleton to a sixth place finish in the South Central Region.

Her regional outing came just two weeks after winning the individual Lone Star Conference Championship with a time of 22:14.20 and giving Tarleton a second-place conference finish.

The senior from Denton, in addition to Wednesday's honor, was also named All-Region and All-Conference for her efforts this season.
