Huckabay's girls picked up their first win Tuesday night when three double-digit scoring performances lifted the Lady Indians past Ranger 44-41 at HHS.

Narda Fragoza, Taylor Lowe and Bailey Woolridge combined for 90 percent of the Lady Indian scoring. Fragoza scored 14 while Lowe and Woolridge added 13 each, giving the trio 40 combined points. Marisol Hernandez and Erin Baker scored two each.

While the Lady Indians celebrated their first victory, the Indians (4-4) rolled back to an even .500 mark by blasting Ranger's boys 97-25 behind three 20-point explosions.

Cade Bray and Junior Fragoza poured in 23 points each and Gavin Fuentes netted 22 to pace the Indians' fast-paced attack. Cade Little scored eight, Eduardo Sanchez six, Garrett Stewart five, Ky Bray four and Levi Dowell four.

The Indians are still without 2012-13 Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Class A Division II Newcomer of the Year James Weiss, who suffered a major head injury in a preseason scrimmage.

Huckabay's teams are in tournament play Thursday through Saturday, as long as winter weather permits travel to and from the events. The boys teams are competing in Lipan, the girls in Perrin.
