A strong first half gave Hico all the advantage it would need as the Lady Tigers topped 2A Early 51-38 at HHS Tuesday.

Kaylee Roach continued her impressive freshman campaign with 15 points, while Ashley McLain netted 12 for the Lady Tigers, who led 11-5 by the end of the first and 26-12 at the half.

Julia McDonald and Shyanne Wolfe scored six each for Hico, Summer Lehman, Sophie Morrow and Ashlyn Underwood added three apiece, Christy Zwart chipped in with two and Kelsey Warren had one.

"We played pretty well," said Hico head coach Brad Stegall, who backed its club out of its press in the second half. "We have two groups of five who are rotating in and seeing about equal time right now. Hopefully we're headed in the right direction."
