Luanne Schexnider has always been a proponent for buying locally. Now, as the Executive Director of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce, she is taking her cause on air - to The Broadcast.
Producer of The Broadcast, Colleen Derrick Horning, was raised in Stephenville before moving to Dallas. She invited Schexnider on the show to help promote buying in Texas and boosting the Texas economy. The Broadcast is a two-hour television show, which is a branch of D Magazine, and is shown on KTXD-TV.
Schexnider said she is thrilled to be included in the segment, which will air between 9-11 a.m. Monday.
"It's so exciting to be a part of this," she said. "I've already been on the show once, and this time it's to talk about buying locally, which is right up my alley."
She will be discussing the Chamber's upcoming event – Shamrocks and Mistletoe, which will feature the annual lighted Christmas parade, the sidewalk sale and bazaar and, most importantly, Santa's visit to the 'other Big D'.
"I'm thrilled to get to be a part of the show and talk about all the amazing products our neck of the woods has to offer," Schexnider said. "I'm going to talk about Dublin Bottling Works Products, Bob Earl Texas Mesquite Products, Wiseman Chocolates from Hico, Old World Santa Carvings from a Dublin native Don Lyles who lives in Granbury, Durham Pecan Gifts out of Comanche, Veldhuizen Cheese Shop gift selection, Callaway Ropes and some very special information about gifts of art that can be painted by Dublin Artist Patty Sjolin- owner of The Irish Cowboy, who worked as a concepts artist for Lisa Frank 20 years ago. I even have some of the Lisa Frank art that was hers, which evokes a lot of happy childhood memories for many people."
