Homecoming week is just around the corner for Tarleton State University and that means the deadline for the annual parade entries is drawing near.

Homecoming week will take place from Oct. 21-26, with the parade falling on the same Saturday as the football game, when Tarleton will face off against Texas A&M Commerce. The parade will begin at 10 a.m.

Entry forms are required to participate. Six categories are available for entry. They include a float, which is a decorated trailer that adheres to the homecoming theme and will be judged. Only Tarleton organizations are eligible for judging. A truck or trailer, which is intended to carry people in the parade and not intended to be judged. A car or truck, just the vehicle without a trailer attached. A marching unit, a group of pedestrians with no animals. A mounted unit, a group of animals or riders such as the Texan Rider or horse clubs. Or another type of entry which you can fill in an "other" box.

For more information, call the Office of Student Engagement at 968-9256. The deadline to return entry forms is Thursday, Oct. 10, by 5 p.m. to the Office of Student Engagement, room 103 of the Thompson Student Center.
