The weather's cooling off and that's good news for those looking for a little fun this weekend - so get going - it's going to be a busy one. Oh, and TGIF!

1 - Speedfest at 281 Speedway

Check out the modifieds, stock cars, hobby stocks, Southern SportMods, sport compacts, Lone Star Dwarf cars, wing modifieds and street stocks at the 281 Speedway racetrack Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Gates will open at 6 p.m. and racing starts at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday gates will open at 1 p.m. with racing starting at 3 p.m. 

2 - Family Country Music Show

The Red Barn Project will host the Family Country Music Show featuring Tommy Clark, Rhonda McCullough, Heidi Smith on banjo, Keith Riley, Dan Devivo, and Paul Sanders as well Tim Turnbeaugh, Joseph Jackson, Jim Cooley and Jimmie Green at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Stephenville Senior Citizen Center. 

3 - Rodeo action at Lone Star Arena

Lone Star Arena will play host to the Cowboy Capital of the World PRCA Rodeo Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Shows start at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday. 

4 - Tarleton presents Jake's Women

Theatre at Tarleton presents Jake's Women Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Theater. Jake, a novelist who is more successful with fiction than life, faces marital crisis by daydreaming about the women who have crossed his path. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for faculty, staff or senior citizens and $5 with a Tarleton ID.

5 - The Accidental Band to perform at winery

The Accidental Band will perform at Bluff Dale Vineyard from 4-7 p.m. Saturday. The band will play a show of original music by lead singer Craig Clifford. There's no cover charge, and the band will perform in the newly-expanded covered pavilion.
