The eighth grade A volleyball team from Henderson Junior High survived the opening round of bracket play before falling in the second round at Weatherford's A team tournament last weekend.

The Honeybees were 0-3-1 in pool play, splitting with Everman and falling to Aledo, Peaster and Brewer. They defeated Weatherford Tison 22-25, 25-23, 25-16 in an exciting opening round match when bracket play started. Peaster was too much in the second round, eliminating HJH 25-10, 25-16.

Leading Stephenville in the tournament were Karsyn Kimbrough with 24 points, two aces and five kills, and Presli Bray with 11 kills on top of 10 points and six aces. Tesslie Baker had nine kills and two blocks along with eight points and an ace.

Jordan Carter scored 12 points, aced a serve and landed three kills, Lexie Sparks collected 11 points, three aces and three kills, Payton Wall had eight points and three aces, Julia Flores contributed three points and an ace and Hailey Martin added two points with an ace.
