The No. 25 Tarleton State Texans will hit the road for their third game of the season this Saturday to face former Lone Star Conference rival Abilene Christian University at Toyota Stadium in Frisco.
The game is set to kick off at 4 p.m., but Tarleton fans are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy an afternoon of tailgating and a concert by Aaron Watson at 2 p.m.
Texan Alley, Tarletonís tailgating headquarters, begins the pre-game festivities at noon and continues until kickoff in the blue parking lot near the stadiumís east entrance. Fans of the purple and white are invited to enjoy free hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks, as well as music, games and fun before the Texans (2-0) ACU, now a member of the NCAA Division I (FCS) Southland Conference.
Texan Alley activities will include a bounce house and a giant inflatable football obstacle course. GamerTagz of Weatherford will also provide a mobile video game center for fans during the tailgate.
Tickets to the game, which include admission to the Aaron Watson concert, are on sale at the ticket booth inside Wisdom Gymnasium through Friday from 1:30 to 4 p.m.
Admission is $15 for adults and $10 for students. Tickets will also be sold the day of the game at the stadium. Parking at Toyota Stadium is $10 per vehicle.
The Division of Student Life is also sponsoring a chartered bus for fans to travel to Frisco. There are still seats available on the bus and sign-ups will end at 5 p.m. on Friday. The cost is $5 for the round-trip, and the first 50 individuals will receive a free ticket to the game.
The bus will depart at 9:45 a.m. from the west side parking lot of Memorial Stadium. Those riding the bus are asked to arrive 30 minutes prior to departure.
To sign up for a seat on the bus, stop by the O-Zone (Room 34) located in the lower level of the Thompson Student Center. For more information call 254-968-0722.
