You've seen them at Cowboys Stadium, you've seen them at Memorial Stadium and now you'll get the chance to see the Stephenville High School Yellow Jacket Band on the field during the halftime show of the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014.

With 100 days until the 80th Annual Allstate Sugar Bowl Classic, band members are gearing up fundraising efforts so they can attend the game. According to fundraising chairperson Megan Carrasco, the band was invited over the summer and has begun raising money for the trip this week with the sell of raffle tickets.

She said raffle tickets include chances to win a big screen TV, a gift certificate to Star Arms and a barbecue pit. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased from any band member or by calling Carrasco at 977-4258.

"This is just the first of a number of fundraisers we are planning in the months leading up to the trip," Carrasco said. "We've got a lot of money to raise. There are 55 band members, the directors and chaperones all to think about and we're going to be feeding these kids and want to show them a good time in addition to the game itself."

The band is hoping to raise $50,000, which will cover the cost of the hotel, bus ride and meals. The group will take two buses to New Orleans a few days before the game.
