Seven contestants shared their passion for rodeo and were judged on their talents in horsemanship, interview, speech, modeling, personality, appearance and a written essay about what rodeo means to them. The reigning queens and current contestants enjoyed riding in the parade and helping young rodeo fans try their hand at barrel racing and roping during the Rodeo Heritage Week Kickoff Celebration on the downtown square. Winners will be crowned at the start of the first rodeo performance this Friday at Lone Star Arena. Miss, teen and princess title holders will represent the Cowboy Capital of the World by promoting the city's western heritage and the sport of professional rodeo while modeling goodwill and integrity.
