The curtain is opening for the new season of the Cross Timbers Area Community Theatre. Auditions will be held for this year's Christmas production from 9 am. - noon Saturday at the Cross Timbers Fine Arts Council.

Two plays have been chosen for this year's performances. The productions include "Twas the Night Before Columbus Day" by Maggie Lawerence, where the play's narrator misremembers the famous poem by Clement Moore, and "Alias (Ms.) Santa Claus" by Frank V. Priore, where a a young, generous loan officer is offered the position of Santa Claus.

Director Mica Parsons said she is excited about the upcoming season. "This is our third year to put on the Christmas production and we're looking forward to another exciting rehearsal process," she said. "We will follow up with those who audition on Saturday and will have selected a cast on the same day."

Parsons is looking for five men, five women, three boys and between six and eight girls to participate. Rehearsals will begin Oct. 5.

The plays will be performed on Dec. 17 at The N at Hardway Ranch. Tickets for the dinner and show will be on sale soon at Cross Timbers Fine Arts Council.

"I encourage people to come out and audition because this is the only community experience actors have available in Stephenville," Parsons said. "I started this because I wanted an acting opportunity and now it's something to be involved in for aspiring actors and actresses in Stephenville."
