Local teams were a perfect 4-0 in prep football action Friday night.

Stephenville cruised past Waco La Vega 56-23, Dublin mauled Rio Vista 42-0 and Hico ripped Palmer 48-14. Stephenville FAITH shut out Brownwood Victory Life 48-0 in a six-man game called at halftime.

Lingleville's field was flooded, causing the cancellation of its game against Granbury Cornerstone. Huston Academy was idle.

Stephenville 56, Waco La Vega 23

Jarrett Stidham passed for three touchdowns and rushed for two to lead Stephenville (3-1) past Waco La Vega (1-3) in the Yellow Jackets' fifth annual Heart of Gold game at Tarleton Memorial Stadium.

Stephenville led 29-16 after the second Stidham-to-Brock Morrison touchdown pass midway through the second quarter, then blew it open with two touchdowns in six seconds.

Stidham scored on a one-yard sneak with 11 seconds left in the first half, and La Vega muffed the ensuing kickoff. Will Brock recovered at the La Vega one for Stephenville, and Kobe Beavers, normally a linebacker, scored on the next play, with the extra point making it 43-16 with five seconds on the clock.

Stidham passed for almost 200 yards and rushed for more than 100. Kaegun Williams rushed for 88 yards, and Morrison had half a dozen receptions.

Dublin 42, Valley Mills 0

Dublin knows how to celebrate homecoming.

The Lions dominated from start to finish behind Dirk DeVries' career night. He scored twice through the air and once on the ground - all on plays covering more than 70 yards - and returned a punt 45 yards for a score.

The Lion defense posted a shutout for the second time in three weeks.

For the first time since 2006, Dublin has a three-game win streak and is 3-1.

Hico 48, Palmer 14

The Tigers (4-0) of Class A Division I made a bold statement by building a 42-0 lead on the Bulldogs of 2A Division I in a battle of unbeatens at Tiger Stadium.

Hico has been gaining respect statewide, being ranked seventh in its division of Class A this week by TexasFootball.com.

The Tigers have outscored their four opponents 152-65.

Stephenville FAITH 48, Brownwood Victory Life 0

FAITH won its second straight as the two-time reigning TCAL champs easily disposed of TAPPS member Brownwood Victory Life in a six-man game called at halftime.
