Cade Schmutz rocks out to his own beat. Well that, and the beat of the Yellow Jacket Band. As this year's drum major, the 17-year-old senior at Stephenville High School, said his life is all about music. When he isn't busy with marching band, jazz band, theater, choir and his group, In The Mix, the son of Amber and Randy Schmutz said he likes to spend time with his family and friends. After graduating from SHS, he plans on attending Tarleton State University and studying vocal performance.
1. What is one of your best high school memories?
One of my best high school memories so far was getting to be a part of the SHS band and play during the state championship game at Cowboys Stadium last year.
2. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In 10 years I see myself assistant teaching somewhere or directing. I could be a choir director somewhere, too.
3. Who is your biggest influence and why?
Even though I want to be a choir director one day, I'd have to say my biggest influence right now is the lead singer from Alter Bridge. What he can do vocally is amazing. I mean it's not even attainable, but it always gets me going and gives me something to strive toward as a vocalist.
