Tarleton State has yet to appear in a meet, but moved up one spot to No. 8 in the new United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association South Central Region rankings, released Tuesday.

Adams State remains No. 1 in the poll, which includes three other Lone Star Conference members. West Texas A&M moved up one spot to No. 6, Eastern New Mexico tumbled three places to No. 9 and Texas A&M-Commerce debuted at No. 10.

Tarleton opens its season Saturday in the WT Stampede in Canyon.
