For the second time since his arrest in February, Eddie Routh, the man suspected in the shooting deaths of Chris Kyle and Chad Littlefield, will appear in court.

Routh is scheduled to appear in District Court Monday for a pre-trial hearing, according to his attorney Shay Isham.

District Attorney Alan Nash said he is not sure what time the judge will take up Routh's case.

"It could be in the morning or after lunch," Nash said. "I don't expect it to take very long."

Routh is accused of shooting and killing Kyle and Littlefield at a gun range at Rough Creek Lodge on Feb. 2.

He is believed to suffer from post traumatic stress disorder and was at the gun range with Kyle for a form of shooting therapy.

It is not clear why Routh turned the gun on the two men.

After the shootings, Routh fled the scene in Kyle’s truck. He was arrested a short time later. He is being held on a $3 million bond at the Erath County Jail.

The trial is tentatively scheduled to begin Oct. 21, but Nash and Isham both said that date could change.
