They say what goes around comes around, and at Bearcat Stadium Friday night, it certainly did.

Aledo amassed 555 yards of offense and Luke Bishop passed for four touchdowns and rushed for a fifth score as the Bearcats snapped Stephenville's 14-game win streak, 56-14.

Stephenville's streak, which included the 2012 3A Division I championship, began against Aledo last year. But when the Bearcats scored three touchdowns in the opening four minutes of the second half for a 42-7 lead, it was clear they were having none of it this time around.

The Yellow Jackets, ranked second in 3A, fumbled away their opening possession of the second half, and Aledo scored on one play - a 23-yard strike from Bishop to John Whatley.

Stephenville punted quickly on its next two possessions and Aledo scored immediately each time. Jess Anders raced 62 yards to pay dirt, and Bishop fired a 42-yard TD to Ryan Newsome. Whatley and Newsome each scored twice through the air, and Newsome also passed for a TD.

The Jackets scored on an 11-yard run by Jarrett Stidham in the second quarter and a nine-yard pass from Stidham to Brock Morrison in the fourth. They had just 201 yards of total offense.

Stephenville had a chance to get back into the game late in the second quarter. Aledo led 21-0 before Stidham's rushing TD, and the Bearcats quickly punted to end their next possession. The Jackets drove across midfield, but couldn't connect on a pass into the end zone on the final play of the half.

Stephenville freshman running back Kaegun Williams, rushed for better than six yards per carry, gaining 49 yards on eight trips. B.J. Walker led in receptions with three.

Malik Taylor had Stephenville's biggest defensive play, an interception and 40-yard return that appeared to give the Jackets the early momentum. Stidham began Stephenville's ensuing drive with a nine-yard gain deep in Aledo territory, but the Jackets fumbled at the end of a nine-yard run on the next snap and Aledo recovered.

Aledo, ranked second in 4A, appears poised to take over the top spot in the Associated Press poll Monday. No. 1 Cedar Park lost to 5A Abilene Cooper.

Stephenville was one of four teams in the AP's 3A top 10 to lose Friday.

The Jackets face Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Dillard at 1 p.m. next Saturday in the opening game of the Lone Star Sports High School Football Classic at Kincaide Stadium in Dallas.
