Stephenville High School Principal Travis Stilwell and his staff spent last week welcoming students back to school. This week, they're preparing to welcome parents to the campus for the district's annual Meet the Teacher event, on Monday, Sept. 9.

"Our arrangement for this year's event will be a traditional open house for parents to come and meet their children's teachers," Stilwell said. "We're excited to be welcoming the freshman class parents along with the other parents who may have been here before."

Parents are asked to arrive at the school at 6 p.m. At this time, they will be able to follow their student's schedule around the campus, meeting the teachers and staff their students interact with on a daily basis.

The event is scheduled for an hour between 6-7 p.m. at the high school campus, but SHS seniors and their parents are invited to attend the Senior Summit in the J.C. Helm Auditorium at 6:45 p.m. This will help parents and seniors learn more about the college admissions process and scholarship, grants and loan information.

“This is a great opportunity for parents to experience a part of their student’s life at school. Parents’ involvement in their student’s high school career is the best way to ensure their success today and in the future,” Stilwell said.
