Wedged in between Black Friday and Cyber Monday is yet another campaign to encourage consumers to open their wallets in preparation for the gift giving season. The National Shop Small Campaign set for Saturday encourages citizens to purchase holiday gifts from locally owned businesses.
The Stephenville Historical Museum will be holding an open house from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in a bid to highlight its gift shop. All items available for purchase will both showcase the talents of local authors and artisans as well as spotlight Erath County history.
Available will be Christmas ornaments featuring the Erath County Courthouse, crafted items by Robin Ritchie and books by Sherri Knight, James Pylant, Paul Porter, and Mary Jo Clendenin.
Knight will be on hand to sign copies of her book, “Death List, Trail of Terror,” which describes events from 1974.
The grounds will be decorated. Visitors are welcome to tour the buildings and enjoy refreshments.
