The Stephenville Music Club met November 8 in the Fellowship Hall of the First United Methodist Church. After a short business meeting, the monthly program was presented highlighting the music of Stephen Collins Foster.
Known as the “Father of American Music,” Foster penned many minstrel songs as well as ballads. Some of his most famous pieces include “Old Folks at Home” and “Oh! Susanna.” Selections of his work were performed at the gathering by the Bosque River Boys.
After the program a covered dish luncheon of turkey and all the trimmings hosted by Trudy Buntin, Carolyn Maniotis and Charley Fuller was enjoyed by all.
