All five scoring runners finished in the top 30 for both Stephenville cross country teams, which finished second in a meet at Hico’s Bluebonnet Country Club last week.

Walker Loyd just missed his second individual championship, finishing second for the Yellow Jackets. He was joined in the scoring by Ivan Gallego in 10th, Steve Loyola in 19th, Riley Forehand in 20th and Santiago Gallego in 32nd overall and 29th among scoring runners. Outside the points, Ishmael Torres was 36th followed by Brady Cupps in 38th.

The Yellow Jackets combined to score 80 points, second to Whitney’s 49. Brock (108), Comanche (139) and Peaster (150) rounded out the top five.

Ashtin Ivey finished ninth individually and was eighth among scoring runners. She was followed shortly by Allie Lewis who was 12th and scored 10th. Shelby Wood was 16th and scored 13th for the Honeybees, Emily Dark was 19th but scored 16th and Indra Garcia was 33rd individually and 28th among scorers. Peyton Wood was 35th, Dulce Ocha 59th and Haylee Fritts 70th.

Comanche took three of the top five spots to win the team title with 49 points. Stephenville had 75 followed in the top five by San Saba (89), Goldthwaite (92) and Whitney (146).

Hico standout Kelsey Warren was second in the varsity girls race while Dublin’s top finisher was Sydney Beck in 77th. Jesse Towers led Dublin’s boys in 39th.

Stephenville won the junior varsity boys division with just 26 points, thanks largely to Michael Fick, William Maganna and Garrett Cole sweeping the top three spots, respectively.
