Tarleton anticipates an exciting theater year and is kicking off the event with a dinner held for members of the ULTRA club on stage in the Fine Arts Center Theatre at the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center. The Tuesday, Sept. 25, affair will be followed by an opening night performance of “44 Plays for 44 Presidents,” a presentation of vignettes profiling America’s presidents. There will be four more opportunities open to the public to view the play throughout the rest of the week.
Founded in 1985 the ULTRA club’s purpose is to promote arts education at Tarleton as well as to support students of the university’s fine arts department. In addition to providing supplemental experiences for students, such as workshops and concerts by visiting artists, composers and playwrights, club dues provide funds for scholarships and help defray student travel expenses to conferences and competitions.
Those interested in being a part of ULTRA Club can find more information at www.tarleton.edu/ultra or can call 254-968-9236.
