A Stephenville resident who reportedly coached youth sports was sentenced to seven years in prison Tuesday in the 405th District Court in Galveston.

Russell Reed Johnson, 36, was found guilty of aggravated sexual assault of a child in a case stemming back to July 2009.

Prosecutors accused Johnson of touching a 13-year-old girl's genitals while she slept at a house in Texas City, according to The Daily News. Johnson pleaded not guilty.

A woman familiar with the case who asked not to be identified said the victim, a Stephenville resident, was friends with Johnson's daughter at the time and took a trip to Texas City with the family in 2009.

She said Johnson reportedly slept between the girls and touched the victim while he thought she was asleep.

A jury of seven men and five women found Johnson guilty Monday.
