With school doors opening to students in just a week, Stephenville ISD administrators and the board of trustees are gearing up for another academic year with a meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday. Central to the meeting's agenda will be the public hearing of the 2012-13 proposed budget and proposed tax rate.
Several reports will be made to the board including updates given by Superintendent Dr. Darrell Floyd. Items listed on the agenda include information regarding “Meet the Teacher Night,” the ribbon cutting ceremony for the SISD Education Foundation, the Chamber of Commerce new teacher breakfast and groundbreaking ceremonies to take place at Central Elementary and Chamberlin Elementary in early October.
Assistant Superintendent of Business Deborah Hummel will present the revised hiring schedule for teachers, certified librarians and registered nurses as well as address issues relating to financial statements. Current construction activities will be detailed by Keith Starnes and Hummel. Matters relating to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and Curriculum/Performance-Based Learning will be reported upon by Director Of Special Education Tracy Newby and Director of Curriculum & Instruction/Special Programs Michelle McNutt.
