Area hunters will have the opportunity to become Texas Hunter Education certified this weekend from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. Sunday.

Volunteer instructor Calvin Hudson is offering a two-day course at Box H Ranch, just outside of Stephenville.

The course provides instruction on the state's hunting regulations, wildlife management and identification, conservation, ethics, firearm and hunting safety and responsibility and outdoor skills.

Every hunter born after Sept. 2, 1971, including out-of-staters, must successfully complete a Hunter Education Training Course. The minimum age of certification is 9.
