Tarleton State continues to add to its men's basketball recruiting class with another junior college transfer.
Devin Mitchell, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound guard, becomes the third juco player to join Tarleton's 2012 signing class after averaging 10 points and 3.5 rebounds at Murray State College in Tishomingo, Okla.
Mitchell, an Oklahoma City native and graduate of Del City High School, shot a team-best 51 percent including 44 percent from outside the arc during his sophomore season at MSC, helping his team to the NJCAA Division I Region II semifinals.
"Devin is a very versatile guard capable of playing all three guard positions," said Tarleton State head coach Lonn Reisman, according to a release from the university's athletics media relations department. "He is a very strong ball handler, a left that has a very nice stroke and a long and athletic defender."
Mitchell joins junior college transfers De'Andre Upchurch, also a guard, and Jon Cathey-Macklin, a forward, as juco transfers to Tarleton. The Texans have also added a Division I transfer in former Arkansas-Little Rock point guard Chuck Guy, and have inked two high school prospects - Georgetown guard Michael Hardge and Dublin center Jakob Damstra.
