1 - Enjoy dinner at ECVFR
Skip slaving over a hot stove Friday, Erath County Volunteer Fire Rescue Auxiliary has dinner covered. The auxiliary is hosting its annual hamburger supper fundraiser from 5-7 p.m. at the ECVFR headquarters, located at 830 A East Road (U.S. Highway 281). A dessert auction will begin at 6 p.m. and Courtney Patton will perform. Funds raised from the auction and $5 meal will be used to provide food, water and supplies to firefighters and assistance to fire victims.
2 - Catch show, chance to star in music video
Texas Music artist Aaron Watson will perform Friday at Rio Brazos Music Hall in Granbury. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and Watson will take to the outdoor stage at 9. The event is more than a chance to catch the live music event as Watson and his crew will also be filming for his "Raise Your Bottle" video.
3 - Wind your way through glorious gardens
Looking for awe-inspiring ideas to spruce up your lawn and landscape? Don't miss this chance to see six distinctly unique gardens during Keep Stephenville Beautiful's Second Annual Garden Tour. The self-guided tour kicks off at 9 a.m. Saturday and continues through 1 p.m. Tickets, which include a tour map and information on each of the featured gardens, are $10 and may be purchased at Stephenville Chamber of Commerce, Scott's Flowers, Greenmaker Nursery and Alpha Graphics.
4 - Dig into Dinofest
Drive over to Glen Rose for a larger than life event that offers a chance to catch the live action musical "Land of the Dinosaurs" and experience carnival rides, food, games, dinosaur fossils and animatronics, street dancing and much more. Dino Fest will be held in the Somervell County Expo Center parking lot through Sunday. The two-day kickoff to the musical will continue through the weekend and the show will continue at the Amphitheater at 8 p.m. every Saturday through Aug. 21.
5 - Catch a flick at Cinema 6
Catch a new twist on a classic fairy tale, Snow White and the Huntsman, which opens Friday and will play through the weekend at Cinemark Cinema 6 in the Bosque River Center. The movie, rated PG-13, tells the story of the Huntsman who is ordered to take Snow White into the woods to be killed and instead becomes her protector and mentor in a quest to vanquish the Evil Queen.
