The Erath County Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary is firing up its grills and inviting the public to a benefit hamburger supper Friday.
The auxiliary uses funds raised at their annual hamburger supper and dessert auction to provide food, water and supplies to firefighters and provides assistance to victims of structure fires.
The supper will be held at ECVFR headquarters, located at 830 A. East Road (U.S. Highway 281) in Stephenville.
"We could not provide these needed items to our firefighters and victims without the great support of this community," said President Emily Martin Howle.
The auxiliary is also a member of the Blue Bonnet Teddy Bear Patrol. The patrol provides stuffed animals to all emergency services to be given to children who have suffered during an emergency situation.
Local singer-songwriter Courtney Patton will perform at the hamburger supper and there is plenty of fun in store for kids. Fire engines will be on display and firefighters have prepared a junior firefighter obstacle course and other activities.
The fifth annual fundraising event will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, with to go orders available. The live dessert auction will begin at 6 p.m.
