BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) — A suspect has been arrested after a Beaumont teen was found shot to death behind the wheel of a parked car and two others were found injured nearby.
Police arrived on the scene early Sunday after neighbors called to report hearing gunfire. Police found 18-year-old Marcus Simon dead from multiple gunshot wounds to his head and neck. Two other men — ages 19 and 20 — on the ground nearby also suffered multiple gunshot wounds but were alive.
The Beaumont Enterprise (http://bit.ly/KiEG29) reports that one of the injured men gave police information that led to the arrest of a 20-year-old man who is in custody on murder, aggravated assault and misdemeanor possession of controlled substance charges.
Police spokesman Officer Doug Kibodeaux says a semiautomatic handgun was used in the attack.
