Tarleton State's Jeff Smith is headed to the finals at the NCAA Division II Track and Field Outdoor Championships.
The junior from Mineral Wells reached the finals in the 400 meter hurdles after running the seventh fastest prelim time of 52.03 seconds at the Thunderbowl in Pueblo, Colo. Thursday night.
The finals are set for 8:30 p.m. (CDT) Saturday, the same day Tarleton junior Nikki McNorton competes at 4:30 p.m. (CDT) in the women's high jump. She enters the event ranked second nationally. Smith came into nationals ranked seventh in the 400 hurdles.
