Judy Walker, retired principal of Central Elementary in the Stephenville Independent School District, has been appointed as the interim executive director for CASA for the Cross Timbers Area, Inc. according to Corporate Board President Casey Cumby.
Judy has been associated with CASA for CTA since its inception in December 2002 as a board member, serving in various capacities including Board President for 3 years. Walker replaces outgoing Executive Director Cristie Campbell, who served in the role since September 2010.
“Judy has an incredible passion for kids that was evident in her career and continues to be evident in her involvement and support of CASA for the Cross Timbers Area.” said Casey Cumby, President of the Board of Directors for CASA for the Cross Timbers Area. “I look forward to her stepping in as the Interim Executive Director and ensuring that the program is firing on all cylinders before we place the permanent Executive Director in early 2013.”
A permanent decision on structure of CASA for CTA’s leadership will be deferred until early 2013. “CASA for the Cross Timbers Area has decided to defer placement of the top leadership position in our organization until early 2013 to ensure that we have found the best possible person to lead this incredibly important organization into the future,” Cumby said.
"My life has been about children and their happiness,” said Walker. “I am honored to accept this position. I look forward to this opportunity to support CASA for CTA’s efforts to provide Big Voices for Little Texans in our area.”
