A Stephenville man arrested for the sexual assault of a minor remained in jail Wednesday.
Marvin Lee Wysong, Jr., 27, is charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child, a first-degree felony, and is being held on a $50,000 bond, according to Lt. Doug McClammy with the Stephenville Police Department.
The alleged assault reportedly occurred on April 30.
Despite requests, law enforcement officials declined to give additional details on the incident, including age and sex of the victim, if Wysong knew the child and if a sexual assault examination has been performed.
But McClammy said, "sufficient information and evidence" was gathered through the investigation to substantiate a warrant on which Wysong was arrested Monday.
According to records on file in the office of District Clerk Wanda Pringle, Wysong was sentenced to two years in prison less than a year ago. Files say he was convicted of assault of a family member or roommate by impeding breathing or circulation in July 2011. It appears Wysong was never transferred into the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for that crime due to time spent in jail prior to the conviction,
In the 2011 case, he reportedly waived his right to a jury trial and was convicted by the court.
