Erath County residents braced themselves Monday and Tuesday for what they hoped would be a storm strong enough to dump a few inches of much needed rain on the area.

They were disappointed.

While some areas of the county received enough rain to leave behind a few puddles, most residents were left disappointed.

On the Empire-Tribune's Facebook page, Marie MacDonald said she didn't get enough moisture.

"Keep it coming!" she posted.

Morgan Mill resident Don Berry said he received 1.15 inches since Saturday while Richie Deaver posted that he received 2 1/4 inches between Selden and Duffau.

As of 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Stephenville had officially received .64 of an inch since the beginning of the month, according to local weather watcher Dr. Stuart Chilton.

"That's more than we received for the entire month of April," Chilton said.

May's average is 4.70 inches.

According to the National Weather Service, skies are expected to clear in the coming days with the next chance of rain coming Friday and into Saturday.
