Gasoline prices have dropped by six cents this week to average $3.65 per gallon across the state, but in most cases, Erath County residents pay less than other Texans.
AAA Texas recently reported the state average of $3.646 per gallon of unleaded gas, about 13 cents less than the national average of $3.77 per gallon.
Locally, gas prices continued falling Monday to as low as $3.53 at Copeland's Corner in Stephenville, and Allsups Convenience Store locations posted prices at $3.55.
In Dublin, unleaded gas prices sat around $3.59 per gallon, while prices pushed the state average in Bluff Dale at $3.67 Monday afternoon.
The AAA survey found Galveston prices the highest statewide, at $3.76 a gallon. Amarillo had the cheapest at $3.49.
The highest average price in Texas recorded by AAA was $3.985 on July 17, 2008.
