With a $24 million bond improvement package, a hotly contested mayor's race and other candidates facing off for seats on the Stephenville and Dublin city councils and school boards, voters are flocking to the polls.

About 1,600 voters had cast ballots by 2:30 p.m. on Friday, according to County Clerk Gwinda Jones.

Early ballots added up to 405 more than the total number cast in the May 2010 election. In 2010 the total number of voters was 1,195.

Early voting will continue Monday and Tuesday when ballots can be cast from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. at any of Stephenville ISD's six campuses, Erath County Courthouse or First National Bank Dublin.

On Election Day, Saturday, polls will be open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. at the Erath County Courthouse and First National Bank Dublin.
