Kyndall Trnka has been named academic all-conference by the Lone Star Conference for her efforts on the track and in the classroom this season.

"It's no surprise to see Kyndall's name on that list," said Tarleton head coach Pat Ponder. "She works extremely hard in the classroom and this honor proves it."

Trnka, a junior distance runner from Caldwell, has taken part in five track and field meets this season while maintaining a 3.93 grade point average in the classroom as a kinesiology major.

The junior runner has recorded two top-10 finishes this season with a fourth place spot in the 1500m run at Angelo State and a sixth place finish in the 800m run at the Tarleton Invitational.

She was also a part of the Tarleton 4x400m relay team that claimed ninth place at the Kingsville Invitational.?This marks the second time this school year that Trnka has been honored for her academic efforts. She was named academic all-conference in the fall semester as a cross country runner.

Trnka and the rest of the Tarleton track and field team will be in Commerce this weekend for the Lone Star Conference Championships.
