Three Stephenville High School DECA members competed at the 66th Annual Texas DECA Career Development Conference in Corpus Christi March 1-3. The conference - Going Beyond the Horizon - welcomed more than 3,000 students from across Texas.

SHS senior Emily Hutson, was named an alternate in retail merchandising for the International Career Development Conference, which will be held April 28-May 1 in Salt Lake City, UT.

Emily was recognized and presented a medallion on the state conference stage, SHS DECA Advisor Brenda Burks said.

Sophomore Xavier Badillo and senior JoAnn Sanchez also competed in the state competition. Burks and Mendy Petross accompanied the group to the eventi.

"Congratulations to these DECA members," Burks said. "They did an outstanding job representing Stephenville High School and SHS DECA."
